Financial Assistance & Bursaries

Bursaries on Admission

The School is able to award a limited number of bursaries on admission. These awards are based on an assessment of financial need and will take into account the financial circumstances of the family applying for assistance, including income, non-discretionary outgoings, assets and liabilities. The assessment will also include contributions to the child’s education from such sources as grandparents and charitable trusts and other school concessions, including Scholarships or Exhibitions given on merit.

Bursaries are only awarded to children who, in the opinion of the School, will benefit from and contribute to the ethos of the School. They are not generally awarded in respect of children in the Pre-Preparatory School.

The decision whether to award a Bursary and the amount of any such concession is entirely at the School’s discretion and is not subject to appeal. As there is always substantial pressure on these resources, applications should be made as early as possible and applicants should recognise that not all such requests will be successful. Applications will normally only be considered in respect of children who have already been registered for the School.

All bursaries are awarded subject to terms and conditions and will normally be reviewed annually.

Anyone needing further advice on the subject of bursaries should contact the Bursar.

Difficulties with Fees

The best organised families can suffer misfortunes or temporary cash flow difficulties. The School is sometimes able to help by the award of emergency assistance or special payment arrangements. In fairness to other parents all such arrangements are subject to the same assessment criteria as are applied to bursaries, and delayed payments may incur interest charges and/or an administrative charge. Any parent experiencing difficulties of this nature should contact the Bursar in the first instance.
