Occasional and Day Boarders in all Schools are charged £46.00 per night in addition to fees.

Details about paying in monthly instalments and for the capital payment of these fees in advance may be obtained from the Bursary as may details of Kindergarten rates for a part-time basis.

What is included?

  • routine Combined Cadet Force (CCF) training and its alternatives

  • all fees for external exams
  • a few books (eg. atlas) and personal equipment (eg. calculator) listed in the joining instructions

  • Ballet, Modern or Tap - £88.00 per term (shared lesson)
  • Any combination of 2 - £146.00 per term (shared lesson)

  • Individual lesson in one instrument - £278.00 per term
  • Second and subsequent instrument -  £235.00 per term
  • Shared lessons - £170.00 per term
  • Use of a school instrument - £37.00 per term

Speech and Drama    

  • Individual lesson - £184.00 per term
  • Shared lesson (two pupils) - £97.00 per term
  • Shared (three or more) - £72.00 per term

Please note that a full term's notice is required in writing to discontinue any optional extra.  If you wish your son / daughter to participate in any of the above, please refer to the Parent Handbook of information for parents of new pupils sent previously.

Free Tuition

  • for all Music Scholars and Exhibitioners on their Scholarship/Exhibition instrument
  • for those granted an Instrumental Award

Pupils are automatically enrolled in the following insurance schemes, unless we receive written instructions to the contrary before the end of the first week of term. 


  1. The School Fees Refund Scheme (loss of fees through sickness) at 1% of fees
  2. The School's group membership of BUPA, at £67.50 per term
  3. The Pupils' Personal Accident Insurance Scheme at £3.75 per term
  4. Personal Effects Insurance Scheme at £10.00 per term
  5. Denplan scheme (accidents and emergencies) at £3.60 per term

 Please note that personal possessions are not covered by the School insurance.  Parents should check whether their own insurance covers such items whilst at School or take advantage of the Pupils' Personal Effects Insurance Scheme.



a) All fees and monies due from parents and guardians of pupils must be receivedon or before the first day of the relevant term. Any payments by cheque should be forwarded to the Bursary, Dean Close School, Shelburne Road, Cheltenham, Glos GL51 6HE. If payment is late without just cause an administrative charge of £50 will be made, in addition to a late payment charge of 2% per month on the outstanding balance.

b) A charge of £50 will be made for each represented cheque or payment.

c) The Trustees reserve the right to request the withdrawal of a pupil if the bills are not paid on time. 


a) Parents must give notice in wirting before the start of the preceding term of their intention to remove a pupil from the School or for a change in status eg. from boarding to day, dayboarding to day etc..  If such notice is not given, a full term's notice in lieu of notice, without the benefit of any concessions, will be payable.  This notice should be received by the Bursar on or before the first day of term. This also applies to pupils of DCPS who are presumed to be going on to DCS, unless notice is received.  Provisional notice can be accepted where a pupil's return to School depends on examination results.  Parents are advised to seek early advice from the Bursar when considering removing pupils from the School.

b) Trustees will endeavour to give at least one term's notice of a rise in fees; however, they reserve the right to impose a surcharge at any time in the event of a sudden and unpredictable rise in school running costs.
