There is a very strong academic music tradition at Dean Close with many scholars going on to study Music at university and beyond.
GCSE and A Level candidates study the Edexcel syllabus which focuses on the key elements of Performance, Composition and Developing Musical Understanding.
Results are high at all levels, culminating in scholars obtaining places to read Music at Oxford and Cambridge universities, in addition to the top conservatoires in the country.
In 2011, all candidates gained an A* or A grade at GCSE, AS and A2 levels.
