GIRLS BOARDING HOUSE
Housemistress: Mrs Julia Abbott

Situated on the far side of the School playing fields, Fawley House is the furthest House from School although we usually view that as a benefit. When the girls return in the evenings, it feels like we have actually arrived home, a point many of the girls in the House will comment on.
Fawley's homeliness can be attributed to the fact that the girls all mingle well together and have friendships across the year groups. Our unity greatly supports the House's success in competitions, where we all pull together, boosting confidence and enthusiasm. It also makes Fawley a relaxed and comfortable place to be, which is encouraged by Mrs Abbott, our lovely Housemistress.
Mrs Abbott is always willing to lend an ear to our problems, offer friendly and helpful advice or simply have a chat, which makes us feel there is always someone we can talk to who genuinely cares. We also discover responsibility as we start making more choices that are often made for us in our family environments.
In the summer, Fawley girls are able to enjoy a beautiful garden and all its advantages: a large paddling pool to splash about in, a basketball hoop to shoot some ball with your friends and most importantly the ability to sunbathe in private! As a result the garden is frequently a focal social point, especially when you add the generosity of the Housemistress and her fantastic barbeques.
There is a broad mixture of cultures within the House, a unique characteristic of boarding life. We are constantly finding out new things from all the different people around us, giving us a really broad view of life. The multitude of talent mixed with the concoction of so many individuals gives the House a personality and character that is unique to Fawley and remains with you long after your school days.
