There are well over a hundred different activities which take place outside of the classroom in our very broad co-curricular programme (found to be so impressive by our latest ISI Inspection).
These activities take place throughout the week, although there is an emphasis on certain aspects at particular times during the normal weekly schedule. For example, Monday afternoon sees a programme (MAA) devoted to Creative opportunity, Hobbies and Clubs, Physical pursuits and Intellectual Extension activities; Wednesday afternoon sees a focus on Service activities, especially CCF and Community Action.
Add the regular Sports programme (on Monday or Tuesday for Timetabled Games and then Thursday and Saturday afternoons for Major Games’ practices and both a Fitness and PE circuit of activities - with Team Practices on Fridays), Music (with a whole host of musical ensembles and instrumental lessons throughout the week), Drama (with normally a dozen or so plays in production over the course of the year) and other highly-regarded activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme (currently at both Bronze and Gold level) and The Leiths Cookery Course, and there is a magnificent range of co-curricular activity available to the students at Dean Close.
