Results

Psychology appeals to a wide range of pupils who have gone on to achieve success in the subject.  Congratulations to the nine pupils who achieved the A* grade in one or modules or an overall score equating to A* level (A* can only be achieved at A2).

Pupils in Psychology achieved a 100% pass rate which included a 5% increase in the attainment of A/B grades compared to the pupils' AS performance. Retention of grades between AS and A2 was excellent and 36% succeeded in achieving a higher grade at A2.

All of those who applied to study Psychology at university gained places at their first choice university. Congratulations to one pupil who gained a place at UCL which is often ranked 3rd in the country for universities offering Psychology. Other university placements for our Psychology pupils included Durham, Cardiff, Nottingham and Southampton.

AS results

38% of the Lower Sixth achieved an A grade in Psychology and 67% achieved A/B, which is an excellent achievement. 57% of the pupils attained their highest grade in Psychology when compared to their other AS subjects (81% achieved their highest or average grade in the subject). There were a number of individual triumphs for example, one pupil improved on her ALIS predicted grade (based on GCSE grades) by two grades. Several high UMS scores were achieved this year including four pupils who gained over 180/200 points.
