Be a Chorister for the Day

Tuesday 14th November 2017, 2.00pm

Do you have a son who loves to sing? Have you ever considered entering him for a Choristership, but had no idea what was involved?

Every year in the Michaelmas Term we give boys between the age of 6-10 the chance to be 'A chorister for the Day'.

What happens?

Boys arrive at Dean Close Preparatory School, normally in the afternoon. Parents will have a chance to meet key members of staff and receive a short presentation about what it means to be a Dean Close School Chorister.  Meanwhile the boys will enjoy some professional singing coaching, both from Director of the Schola Cantorum and other key music staff.

The boys will then have a break and perhaps play some football with some of our Choristers, before being taken to the magnificent Tewekesbury Abbey, where they will rehearse for Evensong.

Evensong starts at 5.15pm when parents are welcome to come and watch and meet other parents and staff members.

After spending the 'day' with us. Mr Bell will contact parents to share further information about becoming a Chorister.
