Assisting Scholars & ODs

Travel Scholarships 

Each year the ODS offers Travel Scholarships to ODs.  These are worth up to £250 towards the cost of a 'worthwhile' trip which should usually involve some element of charity work.  Recipients of these awards are asked to provide a report following the trip, with some photographs if possible. 

Applications should be made to Richard Padfield, in writing, outlining what the trip involves, any charity being supported by it, how much money is needed and how much the applicant has already raised.

 

Hardship Fund

Each year the ODS gives £1500 to a fund, which is distributed by the Headmaster and Bursar, to help current scholars with specific purchases in cases of financial need.  It might enable a keen cricketer to buy a much needed new bat, or cover the cost of a budding actor to be part of the Edinburgh Fringe production when s/he might not otherwise have been able to go.

 

Schola Cantorum Scholarship

The Society provides a Scholarship for a member of Scholar Cantorum, the Tewkesbury Abbey Choir School whose pupils are a part of Dean Close Preparatory School.
