Children at the Squirrels enjoyed performing to family and friends at their Spring Festival with a varied and exciting programme along an ‘animal theme’! The concert got off to a superb start with the Singing Squirrels (the Pre-Prep choir consisting of Year One and Two children) performing I once saw an elephant with great enthusiasm. They were followed by lively renditions from the Year Two classes continuing with some ‘jungle’ songs, The Bold Hippopotamus and the Bare Necessities. Our youngest children in the Nursery then sang, marched and acted The Bear went over the Mountain to great applause from the audience! The Kindergarten also demonstrated great confidence and obviously enjoyed being on the stage, dancing and singing to the upbeat song, Mrs Bunny and followed this with Alice the Camel. We had a treat with Reception’s first song – an animal song but sung superbly in French – Le cheval fait which they followed with the lively song Down in the Jungle. The Year One classes impressed everyone with their clear words and enthusiastic, tuneful singing of the Elephant Song and Old Amsterdam. Our Spring Festival was then brought to a fantastic finale with Year Two performing an atmospheric dance to The Circle of Life – convincing the audience that we were on the plains of Africa! Well done to all the performers and thank you to parents for supporting them so well.
