Please do complete them if possible
Now that we are a week into the new term and nearly forty days into lockdown it would be useful to find out how you are feeling and coping with the situation we find ourselves in. The SLT will then use this information to help plan for the next couple of weeks. You don’t have to complete the questionnaire but it would be very helpful if you did.
This is made up of just 4 Questions.
Children of Key Workers
We will continue to offer a provision for children of Key Workers in school and as such we would be grateful if you could email Deputy Headmaster, Mr Andrew Hall on firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like your son or daughter to be educated in school.
With lessons occurring in the mornings for those on British Summer Time or UTC +1, we are wanting to provide a range of activities for pupils to be able to select from so that they are never in the situation where they can say they are ‘bored with nothing to do’. The same applies to our overseas pupils in their mornings.
Please keep an eye on the DCS @ Home page on the website for further details. If pupils have any ideas of clubs that they want to initiate, Mr Hall would love to hear from you about your ideas.
This week’s Challenges:

If you haven’t already done so, pull out the boxes of lego and build a skyscraper and send photographs of your entry to Mr Evans or Mrs Davis in the DT Department.
- Hand Eye Co-ordination: Cricket Bat and Ball
For all the budding circus performers, check out this cool video from Mr Powell and submit your best attempt to Mr Baber-Williams who will judge the winner.

Even if you haven’t been involved up until now, you are still able to enter next week’s challenges which can be found HERE and submitted to Mrs Larkin-Lawton.
All entries for these challenges need to be in by Thursday 30th April at 4.00pm which leaves us enough time to judge the winners before next Friday’s Mailing.

The Careers and Higher Education departments were meant to give a presentation to you all at the end of last term regarding the Futures Programme which we run at the school in order to prepare pupils for their life post A Level. As this was cancelled, Mr Suckle has put together a dedicated page on the Library website to showcase the information we were going to share with you: https://dcslibrary.com/post18
There are 3 presentations: one from Mr Mochan on the UCAS system and two from Mr Suckle on Unifrog and other career options. There are also links to the many tools which are available to help with these areas. The link to the main careers site is: https://dcslibrary.com/careers .
Lastly, we have attached below a series of independent guides for parents on the Futures options and process. These can also be found in the site above using the password “Futures”.
