On a beautiful sunny day Pre-Prep welcomed local nurseries to join them in their Forest School for an exciting Bear Hunt. The morning started at the amphitheatre, where all the children acted out the famous story by Michael Rosen ‘We are going on a Bear Hunt’ with professional story-teller, Anna Tolputt.

They imagined swimming through rivers, wading through mud, climbing mountains and weathering a snow storm all in the hunt for an elusive bear. Finally they found one called ‘Walker’ who they invited to join them for tea. After tea the children designed some bear masks to show Walker after which they ventured into the Forest School on a nature treasure hunt. The children had to find some natural treasures found in the forest, including cow parsley, a dandelion, and a leaf. At the end of the trail the children were thrilled to find their very own Dean Close Bears having a picnic at
the Forest School base camp!

“It was a magical day, the weather was fantastic
and it was great to share time outside exploring
our wonderful grounds. It was lovely to see the
children getting so involved and using their
imaginations to go on a bear hunt. They
particularly liked meeting Walker at the end,
some even felt brave enough to give him a cuddle! We very much look forward to
welcoming Circus Day, Angel Day, Treetops and Brightlands Nurseries back again for
another adventure and would like to thank them all for joining us.”
