On the 1st December, Cadbury’slaunched their new Christmas advert starringDean Close Preparatory School pupil, Lex Recine, aged seven.

Lex plays a little boy who is granted a Cadbury’s Christmas wish. Lex asks Cadbury’s if they
could decorate the house of his elderly next door neighbours. They love Christmas, but struggle with putting up the Christmas lights. His wish is granted and when the neighbours return from a day out – the house is all lit up like a Christmas tree.

Lex has been acting since he was two years old but had only been with his agent, Brown
and Mills, for one month when he was called for an initial audition. He was delighted when
after his second audition, he heard that he had won the part. The brief his agent had been
given was ‘a lively little boy with a compassionate side’. Lex explained, “It was so much fun,
we travelled to Southampton to film the advert, which took all day. The best part
was turning on the lights, there was a special purple button.”

Filming took place last month on the 15th of November starting early in the morning and
finishing after dark, so that the Christmas lights looked their very best. Mrs Recine said,
“This was a fantastic opportunity, Lex did incredibly well for his first advert, I am extremely
proud. He has also just been selected for a new Asda advert!”
