Pre- Prep was buzzing with excitement as pupils and staff arrived at School dressed entirely in
patriotic red, white and blue to enjoy a day celebrating theQueen’s 90th Birthday.

The morning started with the whole School posing in the playground for a photograph for the local
paper, followed by the cutting of a fabulous royal birthday cake, which everyone enjoyed a slice of
afterwards. Pupils thenparticipated insome royal activities such as making rice crispy cakes,
jewellery boxes and crowns ready to wear at the Charity Fair taking placethat afternoon.

The playgroundwas awash with colourfulbunting and decorations for the afternoon’s charity fair,

which also had a British theme. The money raised from awonderful range of stallsand games, including some of the items the children hadmade in the morning, went to Barnardo’s a children’s charity which the Queen is patron of.

A big thank you to parents who helped run the fair, raising money as the Dean Close family was a lovely way to celebrate Queen’s birthday.
