Year Two had a fantastic morning visiting The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum for a workshop about the history of Cheltenham. Throughout the morning the children discovered a great deal about the growth of Cheltenham as a spa town during the Georgian period. They also helped to create a timeline from the prehistoric era right through to the present day.

Later on everyone
enjoyed dressing up,
creating their own coat
of arms and using
artefacts from the past.
The children impressed
everyone by drawing on
the knowledge they had
already gained during
the term and also asked
lots of pertinent questions. Finally, everyone enjoyed a tour of the galleries, where there was the opportunity to look more closely at collections from the past. The children behaved exceptionally well and it was a lovely way to conclude the term’s work about Cheltenham.
