FRIDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER: 8AM, THE PAVILION, DEAN CLOSE SCHOOL
DIVERSITY & INCLUSION: MORE THAN JUST A GAME
With Past Parent, Laura Haycock. Client Engagement Manager, Pearn Kandola – Business Psychology and Occupational Psychologists.
Most organisations and managers believe in the value of attracting, developing and retaining a more diverse workforce to boost creativity, widen the talent pool and offer fair and equal opportunity to all. Most managers will also consider themselves able to treat others with objectivity and be “blind” to differences such as race or gender. However, without a better understanding of our unconscious biases and how these can unwittingly impact our behaviours and decisions, the reality is that most of us fall short of achieving our aim of being more inclusive. Like a game of snakes and ladders, the careers of some will be smoothed and facilitated, whilst others experience repeated barriers and discouragement. In this seminar Laura offers an introduction to this fascinating and important topic.
