Taster Days
Visits and taster days are a valuable part of the admissions experience however currently taster days are not possible. Individual visits are available via appointment and families can also familiarise themselves with the School via our YouTube Channel where they will find a rich and diverse range of footage across all areas of the Dean Close Foundation.
A School tour is also available both externally and internally here. The virtual tour will be in available here by Friday 27th March
As soon as we are able to, the Admissions team will be happy to organise a Taster Day for prospective pupils where they will spend time at Dean Close taking part in lessons and school activities. There is no charge for a Taster Day and all food and drink is provided free of charge.
Entry Tests
During the COVID 19 pandemic entry tests will be administered by the Admissions department on an individual basis.
At any other time entry tests would be completed on Taster days, or at other mutually convenient times. For prospective pupils who are unable to visit the School, entry tests can be conducted at either their current School, at the British Council or through an Educational Agent with which the school is already working.
Pre-Preparatory School – There is no test necessary for entry to Pre-Prep although children are encouraged to come for a light touch ‘assessment’ day.
Preparatory School – All pupils will sit a Cognitive Ability Test and an English paper.
Senior School – For 13+ entry pupils sit a Verbal Reasoning Paper, Maths and English paper. For 16+ entry pupils sit a Verbal Reasoning paper and three papers based on their potential A-Level choices. For Scholarship entry, the appropriate papers will be used.
