What Our Parents Say
As a military family it was imperative that the school we chose for our children had a strong emphasis on pastoral care, without taking over my role as a parent. From the very first email from the admissions team there has been an overwhelming sense of family and community.
The pastoral care is unrivalled. It is so supportive, pro-active and forward thinking. There is a real push for mental well being and the correct belief that if this is in place the children will grow in confidence, flourish and be able to learn effectively.
Generally thrilled with the school. Inspirational, buzzy, energetic with kindness at the very heart of everything. Pupils nearly always open doors for me, look me in the eye, smile and chat even if no staff are around. Older pupils really take interest & care over helping younger ones. Confident, rounded pupils very inclusive of lots of different characters but not arrogant or entitled.
There is no such thing as a typical Decanian. Yes, the students are strong and confident and mature. That is a given…. what is striking is that the school encourages students to pursue their own interests, dreams and tastes. Individualism is fostered from the get-go, so that at the end of the school journey, we see no one type, but a very diverse and rounded set of students emerging from school pursuing a vastly wide range of courses at university, apprenticeships, and jobs, gap years etc.,
