This year’s ‘Charity Fair’ took place in the Pre-Prep hall due to the rain. Our wonderful parent rep team ensured the event was a great success, running stalls which included exciting activities such as the ‘Hook a Duck’, ‘ Times Table Tombola’ and ‘Splat the Rat’ in addition to the cake stall, and a books and toys sale.  The Pre-Prep children contributed by making items for sale, for example, bead bracelets, plants and suncatchers. There were also some fun games to play – for example ‘How many sweets in the jar?’,  ‘Guess the name of the Bear’ and ‘Guess the weight of the cake!’  It was a wonderful community afternoon and not only underlines our ‘Dean Close’ family but also emphasises one of the values we believe to be very important, that of service and helping others.

We were thrilled to be able to raise £700.07 for the charity  ‘Hop, Skip and Jump’ and were delighted to discover that we had a Dean Close link too, with one of our parents acting as Deputy Chairman for the charity. We are all keen to hear about how the money raised will help local children.  A special thank you to all our wonderful reps and parents for setting up and manning stalls, providing games and who made this a memorable afternoon, and to all the staff and children who made super items for sale.
