The sun shone down on the whole of Pre-Prepwhen they enjoyed an exciting‘Amazing Olympics Day’. Each and every pupil spent the day taking part in various ‘Olympic’ themed activities such as sport, art and researching about famous Olympians and how the Olympics started.
Groups of children had the chance to try 9 exciting sporting challenges; for some of the children this was the first time they had experienced these sports. They took it in turns to try ‘mini’ long jump, throwing and catching balls, football skills and sprinting.
“Whilst the children were in teams, these were set as individual challenges to help them focus on developing and improving their own skills and learning the Olympic value of sportsmanship.” said Miss
Lorraine Scull, PE subject leader.
After an energetic morning, the children spent
the afternoon finding out about the history of
the Olympics, taking part in Olympic-themed
art and learning about Olympic heroes.
Mrs Shelley said, “It was a fantastic day and
we will look forward to watching some of our youngest children develop their sportingtalents as they
progress through the School!”
