Princes, princesses, knights, ladies in waiting, kings and queens – even a court jester were at the ‘Royal Court of Squirrels’whenYear One enjoyed a ‘Castle Wow Day’. Dressed in their finest medieval costumes pupilsspent the daylearning about medieval Britain and what it might have been like to live in a castle.
In the morning the children displayed some wonderful courtly dancing, to the tune of ‘Greensleeves’ and got involved in the construction of a huge castle in the hall, making sure it had all the essential elements, such as a drawbridge, turrets, battlements and a great hall! After which theyenjoyed a delicious medieval banquet.
