The Pre-Prep were delighted to hold another successful ‘Charity Fair’, raising money for‘The Pied Piper Appeal’. Our fantastic parent rep team were, once again, keen to help run this event as our charity focus in the Trinity Term. They created an abundance of fantastic stalls including a luxury raffle with amazing prizes, ‘Hook a Duck’, ‘Times Table Tombola’ and ‘Splat the Rat’ in addition to the cake stall, a books and toys sale and a bouncy castle!

The children contributed
by making items for
sale, for example, bead
bracelets, plants,
boppers and lovely
mobiles. They also
made some of the
games to play –such
as‘How many sweets in
the jar?’ and ‘Guess the
name of the Bear’! We
were delighted to have
a wonderful team of
girls from Fawley
BoardingHouse (Senior
School) who came to
help with the games. It
was a wonderful community afternoon and not only underlines our ‘Dean Close’ family but
also emphasises one of the values we believe to be very important, that of service and
helping others.

At the end of the afternoon we even had a visit from the ‘Pied Piper Bear’ and Mrs Julie Kent, Dean Close Shelburne Housemistress and Vice-Chair of the ‘Pied Piper Appeal’,whohelped us draw the raffle tickets!

We were thrilled to raise a huge £1911.53 for the charity and look forward to hearing how this money will help local children. A special thank you to the Fawley girls, all our wonderful reps and parents for setting up and manning stalls, providing games and makingthis a memorable afternoon. And to all the staff and children who made super items for sale.
