Huge congratulations to Dean Close Housemaster and Geography teacher, Ben Price, who this weekend won the Cheltenham Half Marathon in a time of 1.10.33, a 12 second half marathon PB.

Ben has won half marathons before, but nothing on this scale alongside such a high quality field. He said: “I came second in the Swindon Half Marathon just three weeks ago and have lost a few pounds and trained and raced well since then, so was expecting to compete for the podium. There were three of us together but I kicked with two miles to go having seen my family, who gave me huge motivation, and held it to the line.”

His previous main achievements include running at time of 31.28 at the Telford 10K last year; and racing for the GB Elite Duathlon team and placing 15th at the European Elite Duathlon Championships in May this year.
