Pupils were thrilled to be able to handle some of the residents of Bristol Zoo on a recent Science Trip. They
had close encounters with snakes, chinchillas and cockroaches.

During Science lessons pupils have been
organising animals into vertebrates
and invertebrates and then by amphibians,
birds, fish, reptiles and mammals -so
tobeable to holdjust afew of these
incrediblecreatures really helped to,
literally, bring the topic to life!

One of the many highlights was being
partof the ‘open sea’ as pupils walked
througha Perspex tunnel surrounded by
water.Everyone gazed in amazement as they wandered beneath swimming seals, fish and other marine life.

The children also discoveredthat gorillas are really quite good at catching peppers and tomatoes and did you
know that a hippo sweats its own version of a pink sun cream! Everyone had a wonderful day, what a
fantastic way to start the term.
