This week’s heart-moving Junior Forms’ play, ‘Archie Dobson’s War’, was a poignant reminder of the impact of the First World War upon so many young people and their families. As we move towards the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the end of this conflict, our junior pupils have been immersed in the issues of the time and the impact of this war, particularly upon the community of Dean Close. I am grateful to the talented cast for offering this timely reminder, and also to the staff team behind this ambitious project. It has clearly had a profound impact on a wide range of audiences over the week, not least as a result of the solemnity, respect and maturity shown by the large number of pupils involved. As we reach the end of term and look forward to holidays to come, we are all able to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made for us all at Easter time. Happy Easter to you all!
