TheU13 Boys’ Hockey Team are County Champions! Seven local school teams gathered
on the Dean Close astro pitches to play six matches each. The U13 Boys’ team played
some fantastic hockey winning all their matches. In their final match against King’s,
Gloucester Freddie Philip-Sorensen scored the winning goal in the last few minutes,
winning Dean Close the trophy and making King’s, Gloucester the runners-up.

Captain Ed Stevens said, “It was fantastic to welcome so many schools to Dean Close for a
brilliant day of hockey, some competing for the first time. We played some great hockey and
I am veryproud of everyone in the team.”

Dean Close will now go on to represent Gloucestershire at the West of England finals in
March. The U11 Boys’ team also did extremely well winning their match against The
Richard Pate School. This also makes them County Champions and they will join the U13s
at the final later in March.
