Before half term several pupils took part in the highly competitive U11 Cheltenham District Cross Country League. 150 girls and 170 boys raced at St Edward’s School over 1.5 – 2km courses.

Last yearDean Close camesecond in the team competition and this year the following individual scores put the boys’ team in 1st place: Year 5 Billy Benson (3rd & 4th) and Year 6 Patrick Clarkson (4th & 8th) and Silas Jack (17th & 20th).

In the girls’ races Corinna Clarkson (Year 4) led the way with two amazing performances coming 2nd and 3rd. Her other team members did very well, with Lucy Humphreys (8th & 14th) and Lauren Luxton (11th), meaning the girls’ team are in 3rd place.Other Year 4 & 5 girls who also participated gained both valuable experience and achieved their personal bests.

The league continues in March, when the light improves. Well done to all those who have participated so far.
