Dale House kicked off the House charity events this term with a very popular Food Market. Head of House, Matteo Cutrupi, is acutely aware of how fortunate he and his fellow Dale boys are and wanted to give something back to charity, so set about planning the break time event.

The whole House was involved, Matteo split the boys into four teams of mixed year groups to encourage House integration – and a bit of healthy rivalry! The food on offer was a mixture, from biltong to cakes and fruit to BBQ chicken legs. The assortment of sweets and bacon rolls proved to be very popular but the best sellers were definitely the tortillas and crepes with chocolate spread and whipped cream.

The quad was bustling with both pupils and staff the food soon sold out. The event raised £181 for Blue Skye Thinking, a charity that supports research into the treatment of childhood brain tumours.

House Master, Ben Price, said, “It was great to see all the boys getting involved in this challenge and integrating well as a House. They represented Dale’s values very well and I am proud of our achievement”.
