The Dean Close Foundation Show Jumping Team shone at Keysoe International at the NSEA Plate Championships on the weekend of 12-14 November. Upper Sixth riders Mimi and Bella, Gabriel (Year 9) and Marielle (Year 5) took on a very full up 1m track, riding excellent rounds to secure the overall win and take the title of 2021 Plate 1m Show Jumping Champions!

Gabriel also contested the 1.10 Pony Championship Final.  Riding a very skilled round, he showed excellent skills to take 2nd and become Individual Reserve Plate Champion.

Mimi and Bella took on the 1.10 Hickstead Elite Qualifier. As her first 1.10, Bella rode a great round, demonstrating huge potential. Mimi showed her experience at this height, jumping a great clear to take 2nd place and her qualification to jump at the All-England Show Jumping Ground, Hickstead in 2022 for the Elite Finals… congratulations Mimi!

DCPS pupil Marielle showed great promise and resilience on her ponies at her first major school National Championship – well done Marielle!  We have lots to look forward to with this young rider.

Director of Equestrianism, Fleur Cradock commented, “Congratulations to the team for all you achieved!  We have lots to develop and be excited about with qualifications and young combinations coming through.  Thank you also to the riders’ parents for all their commitment and time.”

We are now looking forward to our Prep Riders competing at the NSEA Grass Roots Dressage Qualifiers at Kings Equestrian, Bromyard on 4 December…
