From Monday 17th May the guidance for meeting friends and family is changing. The guidance for this weekend continues to remain that although children are in a bubble at school, the following rules still apply when meeting up outside school:
You can meet up outdoors with friends and family you do not live with, either:
- in a group of up to 6 from any number of households (children of all ages count towards the limit of 6)
- in a group of any size from up to two households (each household can include an existing support bubble, if eligible)
Al Fresco Coffee Mornings
We were very much looking forward to starting to hold our year group ‘al fresco’ coffee mornings in the next two weeks, however after further risk assessment it has been decided that, across all the Dean Close Schools, we will not be holding events for larger groups of parents until after half term. We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and hope that this will not cause too much inconvenience for you. These have been rescheduled. Please click on the document below for the revised calendar.

We apologise for any difficulties this may cause to families. Our new Half Term dates are Friday 18th at the end of the normal school day, returning Monday 28th February. Please click on the document below for revised term dates.

Year Two trip to West Midlands Safari Park – Thursday 27th May
Year Two are going on an education visit to the West Midland Safari Park. Your child will need to bring a rucksack with a water bottle. We will be travelling by coast which will be fitted with appropriate safety restraints.
The children should wear their school tracksuit and white t-shirt for this trip. They will also need their school coast and sunhat. School will provide a packed lunch and drinks so children do not need to bring any additional food or sweets.
Children may take a camera on the trip by please ensure that your child knows it is their responsibility to look after it. It would be helpful to have the camera named and on a lanyard to wear around their neck. In the interests of safeguarding children, we strongly advise that photographs or video footage of other children taken on pupil personal devices during school activities are kept solely for private viewing and not shared on social networking sites, as these are not secure. Thank you, in good faith, for your support with this request.
If your child needs any precautionary medicine, please inform staff. If your child suffers from travel sickness, please take any precautions prior to coming to school. Please apply all-day sunscreen, if necessary, before bringing your child to school.
Kindergarten Fun Day including a Teddy Bear’s Picnic – Thursday 27th May
Please send your Kindergarten child to school dressed in mufti (home clothes) and bring one teddy. All part-time Kindergarten children are invited to join us for the morning. Children should arrive for the normal registration time of 8.45am and should be collected at 12.30pm.
Please make sure your child has a named sun hat and water bottle in School every day. Apply long-lasting sun cream to your child before they come to School if the weather is forecast to be summer. It is also advisable you give your child’s teacher a named bottle of spray-on sun cream.
A reminder that as in our handbook, all girls who have hair that touches their shoulders must have it tied back for School. Boys should have their hair cut clear of their collar and eyes.
An urgent plea for parents to return spare uniform that has been lent out when children have needed a change – we are very low on our spares! Thank you.
