We thank you for continuing to work with us to ensure that we keep our Pre-Prep community safe and well.
Parent Symptom Check: We continue to ask that parents to do a pupil symptom check each morning with regards to temperature/cough or other Covid-19 type symptoms. If they have symptoms, they should not come into school. If a child has a temperature or any other of the symptoms, they should remain at home for at least 10 days following the government guidance, and contact the NHS for guidance and to organise a test. Parents should inform the school regarding the outcome of the test, and the government has advised schools that as soon as we are aware of a confirmed case in the school we must contact the government.
Current Year 2 Parents
Please check the clarion sent earlier today for information on your child’s form allocation for September 2021 in DCPS.
End of Term Event Changes
Following the government announcement on Monday regarding the extension of current restrictions, I am writing to let you know how this will impact on the events in the last two weeks of term for parents and children. Although we are disappointed, we will do all we can to run some of the events within the guidelines, whilst ensuring that we keep our whole community safe and healthy. Please see the list below and the new arrangements:
Sports Day, Tuesday 22nd June – We are pleased that we will still be able to go ahead with Sports Day as on the calendar (Kittens, Nursery, Kindergarten in the morning, Reception, Year One and Two in the afternoon) albeit in a slightly different and tightly controlled format. As this is an outside sporting event, there are specific rules which allow for groups of parents to attend in bubbles of 30. Therefore, parents will be seated in socially distanced year group bubbles of 30. There will be a limit of 1 parent per family allowed to attend at each session and we will need parents to confirm who is attending. Unfortunately we will not be able to serve refreshments as planned, but you will be able to bring your own should you wish. There will be no toilet facilities. We have sent further details regarding parking, arrival times and seating, with a request for a reply in a separate letter today.
‘Moving On’ Morning, Wednesday 23rd June – We will hold a ‘moving on morning’ with an altered format. To ensure we are as covid secure as possible, we will not be able to invite new pupils to join us for the morning. In addition, rather than moving around school, we will keep bubbles in their own rooms and instead the teacher and teaching assistant will move, visiting their new class. The teachers will also create a welcome video, as last year, which will be available on google classroom for parents and children. Part-time children who are staying in Pre-Prep next year are still invited to attend – with a revised pick-up time of 10.45am. Year Two will visit the Prep School in a covid secure manner.
End of Year Celebration Assembly in the Marquee, Friday 25th June, 2.00pm-3.00pm – Our end of year special celebration assembly will take place, again with strict guidelines and social distancing. Only Year One and Year Two parents will be able to attend in person, however the event will be livestreamed for all parents to join. We will again have seating for parents in socially distanced year group bubbles of 30 with a limit of 1 parent per family and we will need parents to confirm who is attending. Please note the earlier start time – this is due to livestreaming.
Summer Performance ‘Summer Safari’ – Sadly, we are not able to have audiences in our hall and therefore our play will now be filmed and available for parents to watch on the last day of term.
Children must have a labelled school sunhat and a drinks bottle containing water in school each day. Please also ensure that you apply a long last int (at least 8 or 12 hour) sun cream each morning before the school day begins so that your child is protected all day. If you feel that it may be necessary for your child to have the cream reapplied during the day, please provide a named bottle of spray on sun cream.
In order to protect children with allergies, school is not able to provided sun cream.
Early Years and Foundation Stage – a member of staff will apply the sun cream you provide so long as you have given us permission to do so. Please see below for the permission slip. Please give the permission slip and labelled bottle of sun cream to a member of staff.
Years One and Two – children are encouraged to apply the cream themselves with supervision. Please put the labelled sun cream in bookbags. Staff will check the bookbags and put the sun cream in the children’s trays.
Music Department Notices
The Music Department are keen to reinforce that music lessons continue until a terms’ notice is given by emailing email@example.com and requesting your child stop their music tuition. This is due at the start of the term you would like your child to stop at the end of and therefore notice should already have been received if you would like your child to stop at the end of this Trinity term.
If you would like your child to start a new instrument (current lessons continue automatically) in September, please could you follow the link below to see which instruments are available to pupils from Reception upwards and fill in these forms by Friday 9th July. If you have any music related questions, then please email Mr McVittie (Director of Music) or Mrs Godley (Assistant Director of Music) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This form is to sign up any pupils who will be in Reception, Year One or Year Two in September. NO NEED TO RE-REGISTER if your child already learns an instrument:
