Thank you for your donations – to date we have raised £637.00!
We always talk to the children about how thankful we are at this time and it is wonderful that our children show concern and will often think of ways in which we can help. In the past we have had cake sales or collected food for our local foodbanks as our harvest collection, however as this year we will not be able to collect coins or food items, we have decided to have an e-collection on behalf of Christian Aid who are working with some of the poorest people facing famine and hardship. We would love it if you can join in and donate online. The link is https://e-offering.christianaid.org.uk

Chorister for the Day
Unfortunately, we are unable to run our usual chorister taster experience this November. However, if anyone would like to find out more about choristership with Tewkesbury Abbey Schola Cantorum please contact the Director, Mr Simon Bell, at email@example.com.
The Dean Close Parents’ Network provides parents with an opportunity to be in contact with their own year group. It helps parents to meet with other parents, become acquainted with their child’s year group and be informed about the sporting and social activities which are available at Dean Close.
Most importantly the Parents’ Network hopes to help make your time of being a Dean Close School parent a sociable and enjoyable experience.
Each year group has a closed Facebook or Whatsapp group which is administered by the Parent Representative. Please contact your Parent Representative if you would like to join the group and to make contact with other parents in your child’s year group.
We are very lucky to have a team of keen parent reps who help us in each year group and we want to thank them for all they do. Their role is to be a support to the year group, welcoming new families to the year group, setting up social gatherings etc. Before the pandemic, we had also set up a termly meeting with parent reps and Mrs Shelley for example to help co-ordinate parent/school events such as the charity fair or our quiz night, and at other times to discuss particular issues to improve the school experience. Parents are reminded to contact Mrs Shelley directly if they have any ideas or concerns as she is always happy to discuss any issues that may come up.
Please note that we now do have a DCPPS important notices area on the website which is useful for checking information about special days, dates etc, in addition to year group and class notices on your child’s google classroom in addition to our letters and clarions.
