On Wednesday 16th June, in the glorious sunshine, Reception enjoyed their Minibeast WOW day! They came into school in their home clothes and spent the morning doing a range of fun activities including making minibeast fossils, picking up spaghetti worms with tweezers, making minibeasts out of playdough and freeing trapped (plastic!) minibeasts from ice! In the afternoon they headed down to Forest School for some fun in the forest! They worked with a partner to hunt for minibeasts and even though it was a dry hot day, they still spotted ants, bees, flies and butterflies! They enjoyed exploring the forest, climbing the climbing tree, swinging on the rope swing, and making their own dens. As a special treat, Mrs Hypher lit a campfire and cooked some hot dogs for the children to eat! Then, under careful adult supervision, the children toasted marshmallows on very long sticks. It was a wonderful day, thoroughly enjoyed by all!
