On Friday 21st November, Dean Close Preparatory School held a Charity Fair to raise money for Friends of Mandritsara – a charity that helps children in Mandritsara, Madagascar to have the school books and equipment that they need. This year, Naomi Coleman visited and worked in a school in Mandritsara for six weeks over the summer break.

In total, the Charity Fair raiseda brilliant £2,130, which has all gone to Friends of Mandritsara.

Each form came up with the ideas for the different stalls, including a human fruit machine, decorating gingerbread characters, hot chocolate, smoothies, painted pet rocks, go carting, pancakes and more.

After the dreary weather forecast proved to be wrong, as well as pupils and staff, around 50 parents and friends attended the event.

Eric Harris said, “My personal highlight was seeing our Headmaster, an avid Arsenal supporter, accept the challenge to wear a Spurs shirt – for which we raised £50!”
