The House Music competition has been at the forefront of music lessons in the last two weeks. Pupils from all years have recorded the instruments they play, the songs they sing or had the opportunity to try out some digital music apps. We have enjoyed performances with pets (cats, dogs and gerbils), pots and pans and plenty of fun. This week, each class has loved watching their class concert, voting on a class champion, the results of which we will share after half term. Most importantly we have remembered that music is about taking part and sharing, whether you are playing a grade 6 piano piece or tinkling on your parents’ favourite china, we can all have fun and enjoy making music. There are rumours that some staff may even be having a go over half term. I wonder which staff members will get the most points for their house? Watch this space.
UPDATE 17th March,2021
We are very pleased to announce the finalists of the House Music Competition, which will take place on the 29th April. The programme can be found in the important notices section. It has been a very difficult competition to adjudicate this year, as submitting performances has allowed pupils to really relax and strive for perfection. We congratulate those who are through and apologise that we could not get everyone into a final. We are hoping to live stream the finals for parents to watch on the day. “Class champions”, chosen by their classmates will receive their medals very soon.
