Parents of the Dean Close Foundation

Parents who have children at any of our schools across the foundation meet roughly fortnightly to catch up, support one another and to pray for the needs of Dean Close and our children. Aware that as a parent body we are very much an international bunch, we are pursuing a blended approach with local parents coming to Dean Close House for a cup of tea or coffee in person, and those who are farther flung logging on through Zoom. Any and all DC parents are invited – there is no pass mark or test to join! Please do contact for more information.

Year 5 Trip

There is a Year 5 trip to Mary Arden’s Farm coming up in a few weeks’ time. Due to numbers, the year group will be split in 2 and to best suit the pupils’ timetabling, they year will be split as follows:

  • On Mon 27th Sep, 5PW and those in Yeaman and Deacon who are in 5LB will go.
  • On Mon 4th Oct, 5JS and those in Oaksey and Wilton who are in 5LB will go.

Please can the children come in dressed as someone from the Tudor time (monarch or peasant, courtier or actor – whatever they fancy!) for the day that their group goes on the trip. It does not have to be expensive or elaborate but it is fun for them to get into the spirit of the day. Their legs need to be covered, they need sensible shoes (paths can be slippery/muddy) and a coat (which does not have to be Tudor style!) They will also need their water bottles.

Any questions, please get in touch with the Year 5 teachers.

Team Building Morning for Year 7

As part of our ‘Transition to Year 7’ campaign, Year 7 pupils have a team building morning to look forward to on Monday 27th September. This will involve some fun problem-solving activities and team challenges, as well as a session in the Cookery School at DCS, led by a specialist member of staff.  The activities will follow our usual timetable, and most will take place outside, so pupils will need to come prepared if the forecast is for wet weather. Pupils can wear mufti for the morning but will need their Games kit in school for the afternoon.
Please contact Mrs Hunt ( if you have any questions.
