It is with much excitement that the Dean Close Equestrian Department is able to announce a new partnership with Highnam Court Equine, based in Highnam, Gloucestershire. Highnam Court Equine is run by Jasmine Head, an Old Decanian and International Show Jumper, set in 50 acres of the stunning secure grounds of Highnam Court; the equestrian facilities on offer are second to none.
Highnam Court Equine will be able offer pupils and parents a range of full livery packages with the reassurance that there will be highly skilled professional staff to look after every element of their horses’ or ponies’ needs.
Highnam Court Equine has the following facilities.
- 13 x 15 or 13 x 18 rubber matted stables
- Indoor hot wash and solarium
- Secure tack room
- Upstairs seating and refreshment area
- Lunge pen
- Individual turnout
- 35m x 60m all weather ménage with flood lights and full set of Show Jumps
- CCTV and secure electric gates
- Hot Wash
- 6 horse walker
This partnership will enable pupils who are coming from further afield to stable their horses or ponies less than a 20 minute drive away from school. In addition to this Highnam Court Equine will now also be the new training ground for the Prep and Senior School equestrian team riders, enabling the team members for the first time to come together and train as one collective group, learning from and supporting one another. The equestrian department at Dean Close is strengthening year on year. This new venture is a much welcomed addition to the ever growing equestrian presence throughout the Dean Close Foundation.
Director of Sport, Greg Baber-Williams, said, “Given the high profile successes of the equestrian programme under the committed leadership of Mrs Fleur Cradock, it was imperative that we were able to take our provision to the next level to support the riders and families involved. Highnam Court Equine is perfectly located to service the needs of both Dean Close School, Cheltenham and St John’s on the Hill, Chepstow. I am delighted that we are able to call upon the expertise of Jasmine Head and her staff at Highnam Court Equine and I have no doubt that it will prove to be a great success for the school and those involved.”
