Dean Close has always prided itself on its hockey; however 2015 has surpassed previous expectations.

Every age group of boys’ hockey has qualified for the National Schools’ finals this year, which means ourU13, U14, U16 and U18 teams will be competing at the highest national level.

The U13s are reigning National Champions and recently won the Midlands Regional Champions to qualify for the National Finals once again. The boys won the Midlands in spectacular style by winning all of their nine matches, scoring 36 goals and conceding only 2.

The team ended its 11 aside season on Monday making it their third year unbeaten, having played 10 and won 10, scoring 54 against 4.

To top this off they are also Gloucestershire champions for the eighth year in a row!

Jon Harris, Prep School 1st XI manager said: “Hockey at Dean Close is thriving. Our girls and boys are loving their hockey and having great success.

“We have a great structure with coaches Gary Tredgett, Angus Pearce and Liam Brignull coaching from age 7 to 18. This enables the School to continue and build on success to become one of top hockey schools for boys and girls in the country.”
