Dean Close riders jumped to the top of the leaderboard at the Hurstpierpoint College National Senior Schools Show Jumping Competition in August.
The Show Jumping Team; Molly Davies (Capt.) Lydia Ward and Georgina Day, jumped three incredible rounds to allow Captain, Molly to ride and secure one of the last ten places in the jump-off at the International Arena.
32 senior schools started the competition with just ten making the final. The Dean Close riders were one of only three schools to finish on a zero score. Dean Close, Millfeld and Newbridge College all went through to the jump-off to determine the top three. The team captain, Molly Davies, jumped a fabulous clear round putting Dean Close into second place, narrowly beaten by a rider from Newbridge College, Ireland.
Head of Equestrianism, Fleur Cradock, said, “The Dean Close riders really showed what determination can achieve and I am so proud to see them finish the competition as the top school in England”.
