On Tuesday 15 November, artist Paul Bradford from award winning educators ‘We Explore Drawing’ ran a four hour workshop with Lower Sixth artists entitled ‘Drawing into Painting’.

The workshop was designed to encourage students to expand their visual language by exploring the inter-relationship between painting and drawing and encompassing both discipline and expression into their mark making. Painting from a range of imagery, our pupils gained confidence in drawing with their brushes and familiarity with the physical properties of paint as they work towards finding a personalised approach to painting.

Director of Art, Caroline Evans said of the day,

“The workshop was very well received by the pupils who were purposefully challenged and inspired throughout. It was exciting to see them becoming braver over the course of the afternoon, resulting in some excellent final pieces.”
