Before Lenthalf termthe wholeschool participated inE-Safety week in line with the national campaign of Safer Internet Day. Pupils explored the theme of ‘Create, connect and show respect: a better internet starts with you’. Through PSHCE lessons (Personal, Social, Healthand CitizenshipEducation), breaktime activities and tutor times, pupils were encouraged to think about how being online influences them and how to be a positive influence themselves. They explored the many benefits of using the internet and discussed strategies for staying safe online and for being responsible users of the internet and social media. At breaktimes, the children had the chance to consider how being online makes them feel by looking at a number of different scenarios and deciding whether they would be angry, worried, happy or unaffected. In this digital age, it is so important that children have the skills to be able to build a safe, positive community online.
