In what turned out to be a rather soggy lead up to the Half-Term holiday, the DCPS Annual Cross-Country run took place on Wednesday the 21st October. Everyone proudly turned out in their ‘house’ team colours, but unfortunately this year there was not the buzz of the parents cheering the children on from the side lines! Pupils from other year groups were on hand to wave and cheer the runners on as they splashed though inches of mud and shook of the autumnal downpour !

Despite the poor weather, everyone was in great spirits, and the race was a huge success for everyone involved! There was not a single child that didn’t pass the finish line!

Year 3 and 4 kicked off the afternoons proceedings, running the distance of the far rugby fields and into Forest school before finishing past the CPA. Then, it was Years 5 and 6 turn to run the same course as years 3 and 4, but with the Cricket field added in for good measure!

Finally,  Year 7 and 8 ran two full laps of the far rugby fields, including forest school, and then the entire cricket pitch on top!

It was great to see all pupils cheering on their friends and housemates. A great, if a little damp, afternoon was had by all!

A Cross Country film will be available for parents to watch shortly, but for now, please enjoy our image gallery:
