The Warden and Heads of Schools from Senior, Prep and St John’s on-the-Hill recently came together with all the team riders and parents from the Foundation for an equestrian evening. The evening was to recognise and celebrate the successes Dean Close Foundation riders have achieved over the last few years, and to give recognition awards and thanks to our Upper Sixth leavers; Lydia Ward, Millie Tingey and Molly Davies. Without the support of the parents and trainers, Dean Close wouldn’t have had the successes and results that it has over recent years, therefore the event was also to give thanks to those parents and individuals who have made the equestrian teams of the Dean Close Foundation what they are today. Also in attendance was Olympic Three Day Eventer, Kitty King, who took the time out of her busy pre-season schedule to come and give an inspiring speech to guests about what it takes to ride professionally, she also spent time answering questions from our riders and parents. Head of Equestrianism, Fleur Cradock, said, “The evening was a lovely way to begin the 2019 campaign and I look forward to getting the equestrian season up and running”.
