During the Easter holidays, three Show Jumping teams and three Individuals entered the Malmesbury Show Jumping competition at Summerhouse Equestrian Centre in Hardwicke to begin the season in grand style. In the 90cm, Dean Close had two teams competing, coming 4th and 5th. In the 1m, Lydia Ward came 1st and Zoe Etherington came 4th.

At the St Mary’s Show Jumping Competition held at West Wilts Equestrian Centre there was a huge number of entrants in each Class at which Dean Close had three teams and one individual competing for which the results are below. Winning the team event in the 1.10m Class meant they qualified for the National Championships; to do this so early in the season is a great result and bodes well for the rest of the season. Congratulations go to everyone who competed.

More recently, two of our younger members of the Dean Close Equestrian Club were show jumping at the Pinewood School Show Jumping competition with two ponies each. They improved in each Class throughout the afternoon and evening, ending with two fantastically fast clear rounds to finish 3rd (Lydia Ward on Kiltroms Woodie Jumpit) and 8th (Lawson Day on Dan) in a class of 80 entrants.

The future for equestrianism at Dean Close remains bright.
