The last weeks of the school year often act as an exuberant showcase of the richness and variety of activities that take place at Dean Close Prep. These activities have ranged from the sitting of end-of-year assessments for pupils and the trepidation prior to receiving results and vital feedback offered by teachers, to the celebration of effort and achievement during the final event of term, Speech Day. In the midst of these activities we have enjoyed seeingthe children involved in a festival of athleticism on Sports Day, where chests pounded, ropes were tugged and medals were won; followed by the formality of the Year 8 Leavers’ Dinner, the Leavers’ Chapel Service and the Schola Cantorum’s final evensong of the year, held at Tewkesbury Abbey.

As a show piece of the many extraordinary talents of our pupils, ‘The Summer Extravaganza’, held in the Bacon Theatre, is always an unmissable event. Dance, music and drama combine to give a taste of what the pupils have been getting up to over the year. Once again, our pupils have excelled in effort and involvement, thoroughly deserving the weeks of holiday to come!
