The School Day

The School Day Timings

Children may come into School from 8.15am and staff will be in their classrooms ready to welcome them. The school day officially begins at 8.45am. At the end of the school day, children can then be collected from 3.30pm up to 5pm. Between 3.30pm and 5pm children can take part in clubs or play with their friends (outside if weather permits).

Assembly Time

Assembly takes place three times a week. This is a time where we celebrate the new school day with stories, drama and thoughts with class presentations on Fridays. In addition to this Years 1 & 2 have a year group assembly, and Nursery, Kindergarten and Reception join together for a Foundation Stage assembly.

Each week certificates are awarded for effort, attainment or for being a good, caring member of our School.  We also celebrate birthdays during assembly times.

Break Time

During the morning break children have a supervised play time.  We have a number of wonderful play areas on site with fun and imaginative equipment installed. We encourage children to play games which promote friendship and allow for individual needs to be respected.

During break time a drink (milk or water) and fruit or a biscuit are also provided.

The younger children also have a short afternoon outdoor time.

Lunch Time

Children sit together in class groups with their teacher and a classroom assistant.

High priority is given to the development of good table manners. Children choose between two hot meals, one vegetarian. Alternatively, there is a salad bar. If your child requires any special dietary provision, please let us know in writing and every effort to cater for this.

After lunch, about 12.30pm, children who are part-time go home, whilst the others
enjoy a story and outdoor playtime.

The 5 O'Clock Club

We have an after school care facility, the '5 O'Clock Club', where parents can book half hour care slots between 5pm and 6pm daily. This is a paid for service.
