Congratulations to housemaster and teacher, Ben Price, who has been selected forGB Elite Duathlon team. In November, Ben ran a time of 31.29 mins for the Telford 10k which was inside the benchmark timeto be consideredfor the GB elite duathlon team. Since then,Ben has put together some further strong results including 3rd overall and 1st in his age group at the highly competitive Clumber Park Standard DistanceDuathlon as well as 13th in the British Elite Duathlon Championships in early April. In the latter, he was rubbing shoulders with pros and manyfull-time athletesincludingAdam Bowden and Mark Buckingham.

These performances have led to selection for the GB Elite team (he is one of three athletes) for the European Long Distance Duathlon Championships in Germany in May. The race will involve a 10k run followed by a 60k bike followed by another 10k run. Ben has represented GB inhis age group before, but the elite raceis a big step up. Commenting on his selection, Ben said: “I am really excited to be selected for the elite team. It’s a proud moment for me after many years of committedtraining and hard fought progression. To wear the Elite GB tri-suit for the first timewill be a greatmoment – but I need to perform to justify my selection so the pressure is on!”
