Pupils recently had the opportunity to invite their grandparents back toSchool to learn a little about their grandparents’ childhood and share a fabulous day of activities. Together theyenjoyed designing a photo frame, icing some delicious cakes and comparing the children’s toys with their grandparents’ favourite toys when they were children. This really brought the learning of history to life and enabled the children to understand how certain aspects of life have changed over the years.
“This was a fun and exciting way for the children to understand history and learn about how life has changed through generations.” said Dr Carolyn Shelley, Headmistress. “Grandparents play an important role in the lives of children, it was lovely to welcome so many into School and for them to come and see some of the fabulous learning experiences the children enjoy. It really was a special day and wonderful to watch the children engaging with their families.”
