On Wednesday the Boys’ 1st XI hockey side took part in the Padfield trophy. This is one of the longest running U13 11 a side tournaments and is named after Richard Padfield, who was an Old Decanian and former teacher at Dean Close. This link will help give further information about him:
It was a young and inexperienced 1st team squad with only 4 players remaining from last year. The afternoon started with a 1-0 win against Warwick. This followed by another 1-0 win against Bromsgrove and a 2-0 win against Clifton. Draws in the remaining games against Prior Park and Millfield were enough to win the trophy for the 3rd year in a row. The most pleasing aspect of the day was how well the side gelled together and improved throughout the day.
