Dean Close Show Jumping captain Molly Davies moves up a level in a bid for GB selection 2018/2019.

Recently Sixth Form pupil, Molly Davies, rode in front of the selectors for the U18 European Junior GB squad. Shortly after stepping up into the Medium Tours required for selection, Molly has been jumping 1.35/1.40m tracks in Belgium and Chepstow. Molly, and her horse Bayard, have competed against adults who are far more experienced and show jump at a professional level. Despite this pressure, Molly achieved the following outstanding results.

1.35/1.40m – Molly and Bayard jumped a super clear round to finish 34th out of 69 competitors and was the 3rd highest Junior.

Day 2

1.35m–Molly finished on 8 faults in the Speed Class, 8th out of the Juniors.

Day 3

1.40m – Molly and Bayard jumped a good round in the challenging and technical Grand Prix, finishing on 8 faults. They came 32nd out of 58 and 7th out of the Junior riders.

Molly did extremely well during the trials and is looking to achieve her selection in the next 12 months. In the meantime she has stepped up again and is regularly jumping at 1.40m and recently even jumped her first 1.50m track.

Head of Equestrianism, Fleur Cradock, said, “Molly is a dedicated and talented horsewoman who has set her sights on competing for GB, she and her horse Benny, as he is affectionately known, have formed a strong partnership and she has all the attributes to get her name up on the list for Team GB”.
