Last week fifty-five pupils took a myriad of LAMDA exam grades from grade 5 to Gold grade 8 – so the drama department was all bustle and enthusiasm, rehearsing, prepping and encouraging the pupils before and after their exams. Three very encouraging and smiley examiners from LAMDA put our pupils through a huge variety of pieces – ranging from Shakespeare to Chekhov to Shelagh Stevenson to Bernard Shaw. What was especially notable was the enthusiasm and determination of our pupils to show themselves off at their best – to score, to succeed, but above all to enjoy themselves and their work, and be a credit to their hard-working teachers. And credit must go to those teachers for their dedication and going several extra miles to prep their pupils:  Mrs Wiegand, Mrs Green, Mrs Massey and Miss Porter. Special thanks to Caroline Baillie, our department administrator, for her faultless organisation, so that these young people are ready and in the right place and at the right time. We are really proud of our pupils. Thank you also, of course, to our three examiners for their hard work and encouragement.
We hope for 55 very good results. Watch this space.
